As a Security Technologist, and part of Microsoft’s Compliance Team within the Corporate Security Group, you’ll audit password strength, network and account activity, provide timely notification of security vulnerabilities and inform management on the security health of the network.

You will review and analyze security vulnerabilities for network threat potential. Then you will make extensive use of Microsoft’s tools to assess, enforce, and report on the deployment of security updates. You’ll use your demonstrated analytical skills to triage scan reports and aggressively pursue additional corrective measures if required. While you will need to take be effective working on your own and be able to make clear decisions about what to investigate, you’ll also work on a talented and close team whose mission is focused on Microsoft’s corporate security.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

Evaluate vulnerabilities and security of existing network, host and software solutions including routers, switches, hubs, servers network attached devices, and related software. Manage lab hardware, pre-production environments, production environments, and software lifecycle operations. Aggressively work with large computer population owners to address issues in their space in a timely manner. Response as a larger team to emergencies may also be required. Emergencies include attempted intrusions, viruses, defaced web sites, etc.

 

 

Scripting skills to automate processes

 

.NET and/or Win32 coding experience is a plus

 

Strong knowledge of T-SQL required, especially with large data sets

 

Knowledge of Active Directory Services

 

Strong understanding of host, application, trust and account security issues.

Proven skills in Windows security including experience in host based vulnerability assessments
